Academic Excellence

Over 75 years of preparing students for high school success

Academic excellence is a long-standing hallmark of a Saints Felicitas and Perpetua School Catholic education.

A challenging and rigorous curriculum

Our school provides a challenging and rigorous academic curriculum which goes beyond the required state curriculum standards. In the discipline of Math all students study a year ahead of grade level and 8th grade students study Algebra. In addition to the core subjects our students attend classes in Spanish, Art, Music and Physical Education.

STAR Assessments

Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles participate in STAR Assessments which are standardized tests in the areas of reading and math. These assessments provide principals, teachers and parents a more comprehensive picture of student growth and performance. SSFP students' scores demonstrate high achievement in both subjects with many students performing well above grade level mastery.

Honor Roll and Character Counts

At the end of each trimester, students in grades 5 - 8 are recognized for achieving Honor Roll (3.5 GPA or above) and High Honors (3.75 or above.) Students are also awarded for Citizenship and the tenets of the Character Counts Pillars.

Junior High Academic Decathlon

SSFP students compete in the San Gabriel region Junior High Academic Decathlon. Our students have received individual medals in Math, English, Literature, Religion, Science, Current Events, Social Studies and Fine Arts as well as team medals in Logic and Super Quiz. Our team traditionally outperforms the larger schools in our area.

Our Graduates

Our graduates are accepted into their first choice of high schools. A majority of our students attend prestigious area Catholic and private schools. Many students are accepted into honors classes and have been accepted with honors and scholarships based on academic merit. SSFP students have a reputation for excellence that is recognized by High Schools and is a tribute to the educational foundation that is received at Saints Felicitas and Perpetua School.
